12 flashcards — one A4 sheet, twelve cards, no blanks

  1. Print on A4, portrait, 1 sheet.
  2. In the print dialog set scale to 100% — not “Fit to page”. Twelve cards fill an A4 exactly, so any shrinking makes them a size that is nearly right and isn’t.
  3. Turn Background graphics on. Ten of these twelve pictures are emoji, and a greyscale print turns them into flat grey shapes — this is the sheet where that setting costs the most.
  4. Cut along the dashed lines. Card stock, or paper glued to card, if they are going to last.

One set, one stripe: all twelve are raspberry, so they sort back together by edge without reading. Three chips inside it — Clothes (5) · Things (4) · Creatures (3). Same 70 × 74 mm as flashcards-02 and -03, so these shuffle into that pile; they are not the size of flashcards-01’s bigger cards.

Teach dress and skirt against each other, not one at a time. They are the pair she will mix up, and they are drawn as the same shape one part apart — the skirt is the dress’s lower half with a waistband on it and no top. They sit side by side at the start of the second row. Ask “what’s missing?” before you give her the word. No card here has a red dashed arrow, because on flashcards-02 that means an action and every word on this sheet is a noun. This banner does not print.

⚠ Already on another sheet: balloon is also on flashcards-02 at this same size, so a merged pile holds two of it. kite is on flashcards-01, which is A7 and a different pile. Both are kept because twelve is what fills the sheet — say the word and they can be swapped for two others.
