12 flashcards — one A4 sheet, twelve cards, no blanks

  1. Print on A4, portrait, 1 sheet.
  2. In the print dialog set scale to 100% — not “Fit to page”. Twelve cards fill an A4 exactly, so any shrinking makes them a size that is nearly right and isn’t.
  3. Turn Background graphics on. On this sheet that is not cosmetic: the teal is which part of the house the word names, so without it six cards are the same picture.
  4. Cut along the dashed lines. Card stock, or paper glued to card, if they are going to last.

One set, one stripe: all twelve are teal, so they sort back together by edge without reading. Three chips inside it — House (6) · Inside (3) · Garden (3). Same 70 × 74 mm as flashcards-02, so these shuffle into that pile; they are not the size of flashcards-01’s bigger cards.

Teach the six House cards against each other, not one at a time. They are the same house drawn six times and only the teal part changes — roof and chimney are one shape apart, and door and window are the pair she will mix up. Ask “what changed?” before you give her the word. No card here has a red dashed arrow, because on flashcards-02 that means an action and every word on this sheet is a noun.
